THE LEDE: Good morning. A Con Edison transformer under Middagh Street near Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights caught fire Saturday just before 8 p.m., popping a large, square manhole cover and causing a dangerous buildup of carbon monoxide gas in nearby homes.

Hundreds show up to judge New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani look-alike contest: The winner, Amadeo Fusca, was the crowd favorite, wearing a jersey for the NBA champion New York Knicks underneath a suit. Fusca also had a haircut and facial hair similar to Mamdani, taking home a $100 prize.
Transformer fire causes carbon monoxide buildup, evacuations in Brooklyn Heights: Firefighters detected potentially deadly levels of CO in two residential buildings, and requested Con Edison to shut off power to the four-story 65 Middagh St.
Metropolitan Museum of Art cancels planned Met Gala exhibit on fashion designer John Galliano: The museum said Monday that the exhibit, which had been planned as the May 2027 spring Costume Institute show launching the annual Met Gala, will be replaced by another show to be announced later.
