The Lede:  Good morning. Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Wednesday announced the city will end criminal enforcement against e-bike riders and cyclists for low-level traffic offenses — such as disobeying a stop sign. Instead, violators will be issued the same civil summons as motorists get.

  • Hochul announces largest order of new subway cars in MTA history: In total, the contract includes 2,390 new subway cars, many of them “open gangway.” The subway’s entire fleet consists of 6,574 cars, many more than 40 years old.

  • NYC to end its harsher criminal treatment of cyclists and e-bikers: The harsher policy applied to cyclists and e-bikers was begun under the Adams administration, Mamdani said. The new policy begins March 27.

  • Luigi Mangione’s lawyers seek to delay his state and federal trials: Luigi Mangione’s lawyers asked a judge on Wednesday to postpone his federal trial in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson until early next year and said they will seek to have his state murder trial delayed until September.

  • Lawmakers urge State Assembly to pass Stop Super Speeders Act: The Stop Super Speeders Act requires any motorist who accumulates 16 or more speed camera violations in a year or 11 or more license points within 18 months to install a speed limiter device on their vehicle.

  • Two Trees acquires 3-acre Gowanus development for $37 million: Jed Walentas’ Two Trees Management closed on the purchase of a three-acre parcel at 69 Ninth St. on Saturday for $37 million, adding to the firm’s existing five-to-10-acre footprint in the neighborhood, according to the Commercial Observer.

  • 51st annual Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Parade brings cheer and Irish pride to Park Slope: Known as the borough’s oldest parade for St. Patrick’s Day, thousands of people showed up to celebrate the march, which started at Bartel-Pritchard Square.

  • French bulldog frenzy may be cooling in US, but dachshunds are riding high: Americans still dig French bulldogs, retrievers and German shepherds. But dachshunds are increasingly hot dogs.
