The Lede: Good morning. The New York City Department of Transportation caused a stir last week when the agency posted this unexpected message on its social media accounts: “NYC DOT to remove bike racks to make more room for car parking.” DOT added, “Why use so much curb space exclusively for storing property?”

  • Brooklyn Heights man charged with stalking singer H.E.R.: A Brooklyn Heights man was arrested on Wednesday morning and charged with stalking and aggravated harassment. Police identified him as Jonathan Goldstonewerse, 34, of Columbia Heights.

  • NYC’s bike vs. car turf war: Funny or not funny?: This was a surprising reversal of city policy. Parking spaces have been disappearing by the thousands over the past few years, to the exasperation of car owners.

  • Workers prep 205 Montague St. in Brooklyn Heights for demolition: A 47-story residential skyscraper with 90 rental apartments, 46 condominium units and 100 parking spaces will be built on the site, formerly occupied by TD Bank, at the corner of Cadman Plaza West.

  • BAM hosting film series celebrating Hoyt-Schermerhorn: The series, “Hoyt-Schermerhorn: Stand Clear of the Closing Doors,” collects movies with scenes shot in the station, including “The Warriors” (1979), “Coming to America” (1988), and “The Taking of Pelham 123” (2009).
