The Lede: Good morning. Tenants in residential buildings across New York City might soon have to bag their own garbage and compost, man the front desk and manage deliveries, if the city’s 34,000 unionized building workers vote to go on strike.

  • City announces plan for massive redesign of Grand Army Plaza: Grand Army Plaza will be redesigned to connect the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Memorial Arch and Bailey Fountain to Prospect Park in a single pedestrian plaza, eliminating a dangerous and confusing section of roads where Union Street, Flatbush Avenue, Eastern Parkway and Prospect Park West collide, city officials said Monday.

  • More than 1 million NYC tenants may have to bag garbage and man doors by themselves: Members of 32BJ SEIU will hold a formal strike authorization vote on Wednesday; if a strike is approved, porters, front desk staff, handymen and other workers in most of the city’s residential buildings (with the exception of the Bronx) will walk off the job on April 21 at 12:01 a.m.

  • Massive fire breaks out in Borough Park building, injuring 1: A massive three-alarm fire broke out on Sunday afternoon at 5311 Fort Hamilton Parkway in Borough Park, triggering a response from 46 units and 141 fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel.
