THE LEDE: Good morning. Almost half of the priciest residential real estate in New York City is now in Brooklyn, according to PropertyShark’s latest report on the city’s 50 most expensive neighborhoods. In Brooklyn, 23 neighborhoods made the list.

Endangered right whales could wait almost a decade for new US protections: The federal government has already paused any new right whale rules until 2028, and the House Natural Resources Committee voted on July 15 to extend that moratorium to 2035.
PropertyShark: Almost half of the city’s priciest neighborhoods are in Brooklyn: Carroll Gardens was the borough’s priciest neighborhood, and the city’s fourth-highest overall, with a median $2.68 million sale price, which doubled year-over-year.
Brooklyn Defenders strike ends after tentative agreement: The union said in a statement that the new agreement would include higher pay, allowances for remote work, additional benefits and an end to a policy that required employee location tracking via smartphone.
