The Lede: Good morning. Abraham H. Foxman, who was a forceful advocate for American Jews as national director of the Anti-Defamation League for nearly three decades, has died, the ADL said Sunday. He was 86.

  • Abe Foxman, advocate for American Jews as longtime head of Anti-Defamation League, dies at 86: Over 28 years as head of the ADL before retiring in 2015, Abe Foxman counseled presidents and diplomats, CEOs and celebrities. He also attended the Yeshivah of Flatbush in Midwood.

  • Greenpoint police captain transferred to the Bronx after criticism of Mamdani circulates online: A New York Police Department captain was transferred to a less desirable position on Tuesday, after a video began circulating on an Instagram account depicting him calling Mayor Zohran Mamdani “expendable,” “not my boss” and “an embarrassment and total nonsense,” according to The New York Times.

  • Hantavirus ship passenger is from NYC, city is monitoring situation, says Health chief: A total of 18 passengers from the Hondius are in quarantine in the U.S. at the moment, following the deaths of three passengers from the rodent- and bird-borne respiratory hantavirus following the ship’s departure from Argentina last month.

  • Man convicted of soliciting nude pics from minors: A federal jury in Brooklyn convicted Dewitt John, 31, of sexual exploitation of a child and accessing with intent to view child pornography.

  • Lander’s ICE protest trial postponed until June: Brad Lander, who is currently challenging incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman in the Democratic primary for New York’s 10th District, was arrested in September while attempting to inspect a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility.

  • Rent freeze no sure thing in first vote by Mamdani-majority board: In its first vote under a new mayor, the Rent Guidelines Board left the door open for a rent increase despite Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s promise of a price freeze for a million rent-stabilized tenants in New York. (THE CITY)
